Tier Mobility, the fast growing german based micro mobility provider has acquired Next Bike.

Next bike, a German based bike franchise operator with operations in the UK have been acquired by Tier mobility. Extending Tier's major commitment to bikes.

With the tie up, TIER and nextbike serve over 400 cities with 250,000 vehicles.

While tier have bikes, e-bikes, cargo bikes, e-scooters and e-mopeds making them a rare multi model mobility platform.

Since 2004, next bike was the early micromobility pioneer in Europe Developing smart bike rental systems for its own along with with a network of international franchise partners. While they have not be part of the Electric revolution. They entered the market too early.

Next Bike currently active in over 300 cities in 28 countries, mostly on behalf of the public sector.

While this merge will perhaps give the other bike mobility operators like Human Forest a shot in the arm.

As free floating E bikes, in the current regulatory environment continue to be the most effective form of urban transport for UK cities.
